As CSP Focus reported earlier last week, the financing cooperation agreement for Greek MINOS 50MW CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) project was signed under the joint witness of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Meanwhile, the consortium of Energy China CGGC International and Supcon Solar signed the EPC contract  with NUR-MINOS Heliothermal of MINOS CSP project.

Consortium formed by China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd (shorted as CGGC), Energy China Group and Zhejiang Supcon Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (shorted as Supcon Solar) will be awarded as EPC contractor, Greek local company PRENECON S.A. will be responsible for the project construction, and China ICBC will provide financing support for the project.

MINOS will be located in the southeast of Crete, Greece and will be the first CSP project in the country. The cooperation in the development and construction of this CSP project is regarded as a great sample for the cooperation between China and Europe under the “BRI (Belt and Road Initiative)”. 

As industry source told CSP Focus, the EPC consortium consisting of two Chinese companies, CGGC of Energy China and Supcon Solar, will be fully responsible for the technology, engineering, procurement and construction. Supcon Solar's molten salt tower CSP technology and engineering experience will be applied in MINOS CSP project.

Supcon Solar Delingha 50MW CSP Tower Project
