Launched in July 2019, the government call for tenders saw the final offers range from 125.3922 TND millimes ($ 0.0444) / kWh to 129.9736 TND millimes / kWh for projects ranging from 1 MWp to 10 MWp. The Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines has revealed the 16 winning projects from its 70 MWp photovoltaic tender, launched in July 2019.

Through this tender, the Tunisian government aims to build six solar power plants with an installed capacity of 10 MWp each and ten solar parks of 1 MWp.

The final offers ranged from 125.3922 TND millimes ($ 0.0444) / kWh to 129.9736 TND millimes / kWh.

A consortium formed by Hatem Mabrouk and Bot Energy will build a project in the governorate of Medenine. Another group including Akuo Energy, HBG Holding and Nour Energy will build a park in the governorate of Gabès, while Ecodelta will install a farm in Medenine. In total, the six projects will be built for an amount between 18.3 million and 23.7 million TND.

The batch of tenders for projects up to 1 MWp resulted in final offers ranging from 189,500 TND / kWh to 213,500 TND / kWh, with project costs ranging from 2.4 million to 3 , TND 4 million. The 10 projects will be divided between Médenine, Ajim Djerba, Sidi Bouzid, Tataouine, Gabès and Kairouan.

In a similar tender, the Tunisian government had already awarded seven projects totaling 70 MWp to national companies and Tunisian-international consortia. Construction of the first project began last May.

The Tunisian government also finalized a tender last December for 500 MWp of solar panels. The Norwegian developer Scatec Solar was the biggest winner, with three projects totaling 300 MWp. It will build a 200 MWp installation in the governorate of Tataouine and sell electricity to the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) for 71,783 TND / MWh. This rate was the lowest bid in the tender.
