Located in Zhengjiashawo CSP Park in Yumen, Gansu Province, Yumen Xinneng 50MW molten salt tower CSP plant was officially selected as one of China 1st batch of CSP pilot projects last September. With total investment of RMB 1.78 billion, the project broke ground in July 2017, and is expected to be finished by December, 2018.

The detailed progress plan:

●    By 2017, 5 solar collecting system modules construction and equipment installation to be completed
●    In 2017, the first solar collecting system module commissioning to be finished
●    By Jun, 2018, 5 solar collecting system modules to be installed and adjusted
●    By Aug.30, 2018, 15 heliostats of solar collecting system module to be installed
●    By Sept.15, 2018, storage system installation and commissioning to be finished
●    By Nov.1, 2018, a complete set of generator to be started
●    By Nov.15, 2018, connected to the grid for the first time
●    By Dec.31, 2018, put into operation.

The 50MW project takes innovative beam-down CSP molten salt tower technology, adopting 15 mirror field modules, and one 9-hour molten salt thermal storage system & steam turbine set. The sun lights will be reflected the second time to the receiver, in which the molten salt will be heated till the temperature of 500℃. The modules transfer high-temperature molten salts to thermal storage tanks, and further produces electricity through steam generation and turbine system.

China Sinogy Electric Engineering Co., Ltd (CSECC) signed a RMB 1.613 billion EPC contract with Yumen Xinneng in May, 2017, and set up project department in June, 2017. Other contracts like Solar collection & Thermal storage system, steam turbine, and steam generator have been signed.
