Asia’s first integrated solar thermal power plant is now online

NTPC’s flagship project, developed by consortium partners Thermax Ltd and Frenell GmbH is now successfully integrated with the existing coal fired power station at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. Frenell’s solar field which is based on Linear Fresnel reflector technology and on a surface of 33000 square meter will feed annually 14 gigawatt hours of solar thermal energy into the water-steam cycle of a 210 MW unit.
Chinese supplier Royal Tech CSP Limited supplied heat collecting tubes for this project.
