Azelio inaugurates energy storage project in Sweden

February 13 (Renewables Now) - Swedish thermal energy storage developer Azelio (FRA:4AZ) on Wednesday opened its verification energy storage facility in Amal, Sweden, with an official ceremony.

The installation, consisting of two systems, is the same as the company's verification facility in Ouarzazate, Morocco, which produced first electricity at the end of 2019.
Later this year the company plans to install four more systems in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with Masdar and Khalifa University. The first commercial installations are expected at the end of the year and then serial production will begin at Azelio's factory in Uddevalla, Sweden, in 2021, the company said.
Customers will use the verification data to finance projects that utilise Azelio's technology.
